A full body workout exercise routine will work for all your body's muscle groups. You should workout at least one hour three times a week for the best fitness results.
Exercise Helps Relieve Stress
Physical activity will stimulate chemicals in your brain that help to make you happy and relaxed so that you feel better. Importantly it will also help you to get into shape and lose weight, it will also boost up your confidence and therefore improve your self-esteem.
Exercise Helps Prevent Disease
Another benefit of working out is that it can help to prevent things like high blood pressure, help lower your cholesterol, helps prevent diabetes since it keeps your weight down, and weight-bearing exercises like running or jogging can help prevent osteoporosis because it helps build up your bone mass.
Starting a Full Body Workout
When first beginning full body workouts, you should know that more is not always better, as in don't do lots and lots of exercises all at once just because you think it will work better or faster. This can hurt you more than help, as you should work up to longer sessions and should only exercise certain body muscle groups for a particular period.
You should only workout until your body starts to get tired and after each new workout you can add two or three repetitions of the exercise as your body gets stronger. Then, after a few more weeks of doing the exercises, you will notice that your body is getting stronger and you can work out longer.
Plan Your Full Body Workouts
Having a plan for your complete body workouts is crucial. There are several types of exercise programs you can choose from that help to use all the muscles in your body. One of these is swimming. This is a great type of full body workouts, as it adds some resistance to almost all the muscles in your body, plus swimming is low impact so if you have any leg or knee problems, it won't hurt or cause further damage.
A few other great exercises to add to full body workouts are those that work specific muscle groups like deadlift, squats, bench press, sit-ups, and push-ups. You should challenge your muscles by switching back and forth between muscle groups. For example, you could use some dumbbells for a few repetitions, then switch and work on some cardio like push-ups or sit-ups.
What Muscle Groups Are Worked?
Some of the exercises that help build up your chest, shoulders, and triceps include push-ups, bench press and dumbbells. If you want to build up your lower back muscles, try some squats, lunges, and deadlifts. Or, you can do calf raises, stair climbers, or jump rope to help in that area. Plus, you can build up your abs with some crunches, sit-ups or leg lifts.
Cool Down at The End
After any vigorous exercise, you should do some simple stretches to cool off. This helps to lower your heart rate and calm your body down after it has been excited through the completion of the full body workouts. A cool down also enables to your body to do exactly that - cool down, before you hit the showers and get back into your daily life and routine.
